How do I get a firearms license?

Before applying for a firearm license, all firearm users are required to complete a firearm safety course, conducted by the Victorian Police. To access information regarding the course please contact your local police station, where they can provide booking and application.

How old can you be to apply for a junior licence?

A junior license can only be held by someone aged between 12 and 18. Such persons can use Category A, B or C shotguns or Handguns when engaging in sport or competitions.

Do I need to present my license when purchasing firearms or ammunition?

Yes, you need to present a license when purchasing firearms or ammunition. Specific category firearms and ammunition will only be sold with the corresponding category presented on the license.

Where do I apply for the firearms safety course?

Applications for the firearms safety course can be made at your local police station. They will provide you with all the relevant information required.

What are your trading hours?

Tuesday: 9:30am - 5:30pm.
Wednesday: 9:30am - 5:30pm.
